About Danielle Zorzin
The Person Behind Scribblate

I am a dedicated professional translator with a legal studies background and a passion for financial numbers. I have extensive experience translating documents and other written materials, including coordinating translators and reviewers, managing new projects, and localisation and translation processes.

My passion for legal and financial-related subjects started with my father who operated an accounting and law firm for over 40 years, where I worked since I was a child and developed this curiosity for financial numbers, business dealings, regulations, and the law itself.

I started working as a freelance translator in Atlanta in 2008, and I can honestly say I have never looked back. Maintaining my reputation as a reliable Translator means making sure my clients have complete and total confidence in my services, and I am proud to be recognised as a dedicated professional.

I have more than 14 years of translation experience and linguistic education. I have worked in various areas, from advertising and marketing to business administration, management, legal, financial, and accounting; due to my extensive experience in these industries, I have in-depth knowledge of terminology and industry procedures.

One of my most vital qualities is my close connection to the English language and culture. My fluent American English comes from an extended period of living and studying in the United States for ten years. Since then, English has been virtually my native language; I have been living abroad for 20 years.

I am interested in international affairs, travel, and the opportunity to use my language skills in a global environment. I have dual citizenship as a Brazilian and Italian citizen, which means I love to travel and miss Italy, of course, on a daily basis. I have, throughout my life, immersed myself in various cultures. My work experience also reflects my versatility as a translator.

In addition to 3 years of Law School in Brazil (University Centre of Brasília) and English Studies in an American University (Kennesaw State University), I have expanded my linguistic skills by taking courses such as Certificate in Translation (New York University) and Translation CPD (University of Westminster); my diverse work experience and command of several languages make me familiar with idiomatic and formal language usage at handling technical vocabulary in both oral and written language.

I have extensive experience translating basic training concerning management, workplace ethics, antitrust, corruption policy, financial statements, operating manuals and procedures, internal policies, contracts and agreements, client documentation, administration, and IT resources (software, technical specs, and project definition). I have taken numerous courses in Corporations, Bankruptcy, and Consumer Finance, strengthening my understanding of securities and finance during Law School.

My financial experience includes financial audits of companies in aviation, ethanol, food and beverage, sugar, retail, and telecommunications sector—branch offices of Ernst & Young, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, KPMG, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

My legal experience includes legal research and preparation assistance of written legal analysis on litigated claims and court cases. Reviews and investigation of factual matters and claims related to legal cases. Document review and documents to opposing counsel. Examination of legal documents submitted to the court for adherence to the law or court procedures.

I believe in developing a people-first culture that prioritises fairness, integrity, and empathy as a leader. I am passionate about bridging the gap between business and people. I surround myself with professionals who are driven by similar principles.

I genuinely enjoy working with people and tackling all the problems and challenges that come my way on a day-to-day basis. Focusing on personalised service, competitive rates, and customer satisfaction, I always exceed my clients’ high standards and expectations.

With that in mind, after thirteen years of being a freelancer in the language industry, I have the skills and the mindsets, and dispositions needed to be successful and an effective service provider for my existing and potential clients.
